lortab addiction

It has come to my attention that a lot of my readers would like to here about lortab so that is what my post will take a look at today.

I am going to discuss a little of the history and when and how it was made, dangerous side effects, as well as lortab addiction.

I would have to say being vicodin was invented by knoll in 1920 that lortab probably would have come on the market in the not to distant future.

Anyway lortab contains hydrocodone which is a partly synthetic opioid derived from natural opiates like codine and thebaine. It can be found in capsule, tablet and syrup form. Hycodan came on the market in the United States on March 23, 1943.

Lortab is commonly prescribed for the relief of pain. It is also commonly used by drug addicts to get high. One thing you should know is that it is habit forming or in other words addicting and very addicting to some. We could debate why some more than others probably all day long but that is for another post.

I have to add here that if you are abusing lortab you may possibly be treading on thin ice. That’s right they have the potential for overdose. Mostly do to the acetaminophen in the hydrocodone. Some lortab users know how to get around this by taking part of the acetaminophen out by using cold water because it is water soluble. If you are doing this you need to stop using lortab now.

It is not uncommon for addicts to have liver problems from consuming this drug for and extended period. Doses in the rage of 15,000 to 20,000 have proved to be fatal in some cases. One major problem with drugs like these is that younger drug users are often unaware that using more than 4000 milligrams a day can cause liver damage; furthermore, one should not drink alcohol while on this drug.

I am sure a lot of people out there may have a problem with lortab that may have been prevented had they have know a little more about the potential for lortab addiction What happens is Drs. Tend to over prescribe this medication; for instance you trip and fall and bruise your knee and the Dr. prescribes lortab. In my opinion perhaps some people would do better to refuse this prescription unless the pain is excruciating. Be advised I am no Dr. I am just say that I have done this myself and opted to take doses of Tylenol and Motrin interchanging them ever 6 hrs.

If you think that you may have a lortab addiction there is plenty of help available. One option would be 12 step meetings like Narcotics Anonymous. Another opton would be addictions counseling. I have done this myself and I can tell you that it works wonders in relieving yourself of all the past wrongs you may have done which help to further your drug use.

Lastly and my personal choice is lortab treatment. In lortab treatment you can choose to be medically detoxed from your drug of choice. This will be done by a professional crew that is trained in this area.

Once this is done you can go on to residential treatment most detoxs offer this as part of the lortab detox,I do not think a 14 day stay is enough for heavy users. I would suggest long term lortab treatment. I have to say that longer is better in most places that specialize in lortab treatment you can stay for up to 2 years. I have done this myself. If you choose to do this you will be more than likely allowed to work or go to school to further your education this is what I chose to do. In any case you must take action or you will eventually die from the horrors of addiction. If you want to be truly free stop using lortab today.
